Ceremonies are typically seen as celebrations of passion, a couple getting married, and starting over in existence. The symbol was sewn with red or green threads and hung from the groom.

There may be additional beliefs as well, depending on the area. For instance, in Montenegro, the newlyweds were required to stage over a pushover that had been covered in knives because this was supposed to guarantee that they would have guys. Additionally, it was typical for the wedding in Kosovo to lick guy from her mother-in-law’s palm. This was intended to keep the two’s relationships calm and guarantee their happiness and prosperity.

There would be a ton of dancing and mad joy following the civil and religious service. Rakia was a popular beverage used to toast the satisfaction of marriage. And even though weddings these times are more about the couple than the party and sipping, they are however a happy occasion for everyone who attends.
